Discover Your Passion & Build Self Confidence through the use of
COLOR In this 10 week program, students discover what their passion is and what their favorite color is, using both to give back to their community. When you learn what your passion is, set goals to put it in motion, infuse it with your favorite color and share it positively with the world, you build self-confidence! This is because you DEFINE who you are! You create a purpose for yourself, which gives you a sense of self-importance, because each and every one of us has special gifts to share…and this program is about finding and implementing these gifts. When it is declared out loud to others, it is set in motion. Each student walks away excited and empowered, stating from their heart, “i adore me!” *Click below for a detailed description and Power Point presentation: |

Discover Your Passion & Build Self Confidence through the use of
COLOR Hour 1-Discover Your Passion: A. We discuss what PASSION is, and each student writes down five activities of what they love to do. B. Students break off into small groups to share with one another their ideas, brainstorming by seeing what their peers’ passions are. Then they narrow down their passions to their top two. C. We discuss how to stand in front of the room with confidence, using strong body language and a powerful, commanding voice. D. One at a time, each student stands in front of the room to DECLARE what their two main passions are. Hour 2-Learn About Color: A. We discuss what each color represents, the difference between warm and cool colors, the energy each color holds and how they affect your mood. B. Students break off into different groups so that they are constantly interacting with different people, to open them up to different views and learn to work outside of their comfort zone. They share with their new groups what their favorite color is, whether it is a warm or cool color and how it affects them emotionally & physically. C. Using colored pencils and a piece of paper, students draw their passion with their favorite color, discovering how this color affects their passion and vice versa. Hour 3-Community and Self Confidence: A. We discuss what a community is and why it is important to be part of one and to give back to it. Then I pose the question: “How can your passion be used to give back?” B. Students break into different groups yet again, practicing their powerful public speaking skills to share their drawings and what they stand for: their passion, their favorite color, what each of these mean to them and how it can be transformed to give back to their community. C. Setting Goals: Now that the students have transformed their passion into something bigger, they learn to build a foundation for these passions by setting goals to accomplish them. D. One at a time, each student presents what they drew, what their favorite color is (warm or cool color and what it stands for), what their passion is, how they will use it to positively impact their community and the goals they’ve set to make it happen (They will implement the powerful public speaking skills they learned and practiced in the first two hours). |
