A good vibration is a feeling you get when things are going well. Color can shift your vibration. People can also shift your vibration and so can nature. A simple, happy smile attracts a like vibration to someone else. It is very contagious and very healthy. It is a positive force, vibrating on a cool wavelength. Just like the waves and the water ripple vibrating energy, so do people. When we are happy we feel good, peaceful, free and content, vibrating on a higher plateau. It only takes 16 seconds to change your vibration, so follow these simple steps below and see how great you begin to feel!

5 things you can do to raise your vibration:

1. Put some Coral in your day. The color Coral restores your physical vitality with its grounding properties, releasing all of your stress, worry and anxiety. It helps you to see things from a different perspective and it also heals a broken heart. Visualize yourself dropping CORAL Rose petals on a road that leads you to a beautiful path of new, restored love for yourself. 2. Listen to music. Every time I listen to music it changes my state and relaxes me, making me feel happy and raising my vibration. Whether you like classical, rock, pop, jazz or folk, chose one and feel that healing musical vibration. Yesterday, I blasted Chaka Chan and had my own dance party. It was so much fun and it really shifted my vibration. I was in the best mood. Try it and see how you feel!

3. Get out of your space (and/or the mentally negative place you are in) and take a walk. Soak up nature, looking at all of the green around you. Go to a park, a beach or the mountains. Just be in nature, experiencing the colors, smelling the fresh, spring air, absorbing all the sunshine, vitamin D and natural beauty all around you. Appreciate nature, letting it give you a high that only being outside can do.

4. Connect and play with children and animals. They are the most joyful creatures. They have no radar. Children say it as it is and animals are pure, unconditional love. Both are real and innocent, simply wanting love and affection. So vibrate with kids and animals. It will put you on a new vibrational plane.

5. LAUGH until it hurts. Laughing is the best medicine there is and has been proven to heal almost anything in life. Sometimes I have laugh so hard I can’t move…nothing feels greater. Life stops for that moment and you are on a really high, wonderful frequency, attracting more good vibrations.

Now that you have 5 ways to raise your vibration, aren’t you ready to feel great today??? Shift that VIBRATION!!!

I was invited to “Ingredients for a Beautiful Life,” a cocktail and conversation hour at the Dara Lamb Atelier. It was an interesting evening, combining 2 of the greatest “life changers” for today’s high–profile women.  The evening featured Dara Lamb who custom makes made-to-measure wardrobes for executive professional women, and Dr. Jingduan Yang who combines Western medical techniques with Traditional Chinese medicine to address health, beauty and aging issues for both women and men.

They served wonderful hors d’oeuvres, but my favorite was the pear ginger tea. It was tasty and so soothing on the freezing night that it was. It was all of 10 degrees that evening, and instantly I felt the hot tea warm me up and calm me down. The two lovely Chinese women serving the tea were wrapped in pink komodo jackets, the color of unconditional love. They were a perfect representation of the color pink: gracious, lovely and filled with warm love.

Both speakers talked about what they do, their passions and why they do it. The message from both was, “When you feel good, you look good, and when you look good, you feel good.“ Haven’t you ever bought a suit or a dress that just fits perfectly? You are comfortable and at ease in your body and you love the way it moves & how you feel in it. Perhaps it is the perfect color for you, enhancing your skin tone and eyes. Every time you put it on everyone seems to compliment you. It just makes you smile and feel good. That is when you know you have bought the right garment. Sometimes it pays to invest in something that fits right.

Dara spoke about how many of her successful clients come back to her and praise her clothes for getting them that perfect job, relationship or having the perfect outfit for that special occasion. It’s how you FEEL in them. Remember, color has energy and will affect your mood and those around you, so use color thoughtfully.

Dr. Yang spoke about how we must all learn to clear out our negative thoughts, patterns of worry and self doubt so that we can allow ourselves to feel good. He emphasized how we must take care ourselves from the inside and then focus on healthy habits, exercise, good nutrition and color on the outside. And let me tell you…as soon as he mentioned color, did my ears perk up! Dr. Yang said, “Color raises your vibration and energy helping you to feel and look good.”

Keep on using your feelings as your emotional guide through your life. Ask yourself what feels good to you! Go and do it, stay present and remember when we feel good, we look good! So how do YOU feel?

I’ve been in a deeply rooted relationship with the same Man since 1997. I’m seeing him again next week. We met on Bleeker Street in the West Village.
It was my sister Kelly who initially raved about him and told me that I would love him.

I do.

He’s a good Man. An artist and a talented photographer. He understands women, especially neurotic New York women (which he said I’m not ). The first time he stood behind me and placed his hands on my shoulders, I just knew. Then he ran his fingers reassuringly through my hair and told me that I “wasn’t too damaged by the others”.

I’m not?

His name is Michael Angelo. Really. We meet every 8-9 weeks depending on his schedule and never less than three hours. He doesn’t make me wait and greets me with a beautiful smile. I’m handed a silk robe to change into and offered a glass of champagne, tea or anything else I can think of. Michael is observant and sensitive, always noticing the more subtle details:
“Jackie, you still have some warm golden honey tones from the summer. Let’s build on that from your base.”

He did.

Over the years we discovered that we both faithfully love our Grandmothers, Madonna and Men. Our three hour conversations cover everything from religion, politics, food, dysfunctional families, our health and of course SEX. I’m usually convulsing in fits of laughter, as he magically highlights my locks. Through all these years we continue to encourage each other to reach for what everyone else may think is impossible.

Nothing is impossible.

I followed Michael from Bleeker Street to a new lair on West Broadway in Soho. When my daughter Katie was 9 years old she begged me to bring her to the salon after school because she needed his advice. “Michael what do you think about pink tips?” my daughter asked. He responded without looking my way, ”When do you want them?” “UH, NOW?” He sent his assistant off to Ricky’s to purchase the pink dye and shot me a “don’t you dare say anything look.” He embraced Katie’s individuality and applauded her desire to stand out at PS 3.
While Michael and my daughter were admiring her Pink Tip Transformation, I thought to myself, “They’re only tips, I can chop them while she’s asleep.”

I never did.

Michael made his dream come true. He created his Wonderland Beauty Parlor where all your beauty dreams come true. His clients walk away feeling gorgeous and confident. He understands the importance of accepting our unique beauty and inspires his clients to Stop trying to be anyone else. Adore yourself for who you are, not what you think you should look like!

I’ve mistakenly strayed in the past with an Uptown Colorist and a bottle of Sun-in, but Michael firmly reminded me while undoing my color catastrophe, that cheating is never “Nice n’ Easy”. To repair a Hair Affair is not fun.

Ever.

I am deeply grateful to have this wonderful person in my life.
I don’t usually like to share my Man, but I must. Michael Angelo will Light up your Life too.

See you in Wonderland.

Our sense of self worth means everything. What is worthiness? Do you feel worthy or unworthy? Do you believe that worthiness is something you attain or innately have?

I believe that worthiness is something very deep-seeded within you. It is a self-assured confidence in who you are, what you are and what you believe. If you don’t believe in yourself, how can someone else believe in you? “If I am not for myself, who will be for me? But if I am only for myself, what am I? And if not now, when?” This quote by Hillel really sums up that we must take care of ourselves in life.

We must believe in who we are without being completely selfish or caring only about our own needs. We must embrace and include others in our universe and in our world.

I went to see the new documentary Diana Vreeland. It is about a woman who knew her worth. She was not beautiful herself, yet she evoked it. She knew who she was and what she wanted out of life. She stated, “If you know what you want out of life you make it for yourself.” I loved her bravado and how she had such an incredible sense of self worth. Her confidence was over the top. In the film she says, “I am not a fashion editor, I am THE fashion editor!”

When we are clear about what we want for ourselves, that is when we can ask the universe for all that is ours. Now please don’t mistake this with arrogance, because that is so NOT cool. It’s a true confidence that will give you that wonderful sense of self-worth.

As I was walking home from the theater there was a beautiful pink satin bow lying right in front of me. I looked around thinking that some sweet girl just lost that bow right out of her hair, but no such luck. I picked it up and took it as a sign of self-love and self-worth from the universe. Pink is the color of unconditional love. It was such a beautiful symbol reminding me to value my own self–love and self-worth. It came at a perfect time, because I was having one of those not so loving days. We all have them and that is okay…I’m human and so are you.

Self -worth starts with really simple things. For instance, when something good happens to you or someone says something kind to you, do you say “thank you” with graciousness or do you refute it (an example of refuting would be: “You look great today”…”Oh no, I feel lousy”)?

Learn to appreciate yourself, accepting compliments that come your way. This is the start of a process of feeling your own worth. Ask for what you need and believe that you are worthy of all that you want.

Look within yourself. Practice acceptance and say to yourself over and over again, “I AM WORTHY of all the good that is coming into my life.” Every single person in this universe is worthy of prosperity, abundance, compliments and acceptance. Own your own self-worth, feel good about all that you are and share it with the world. You are worthy! I hope you know that!

There really is only one thing in life that we all look for and that’s called L-O-V-E. We want to be loved, adored and know that our lives matter.

I was recently at an event where Deepak Chopra spoke. He said, “If I can leave you all with one thing today, it’s to look for the love within yourself and the love for your special partner. Really the only thing that matters is love. We all think we want success, fame and money, but when it all comes down to it, we really all want love.”

If you start thinking about all the movies, songs, books, Shakespeare, etc., it’s all about love. Are you building walls or bridges with that love? If you start to look at your life and what you want, you can begin to open up your heart, open up your mind, expand your being and let go of the walls, the pain, the hurts, the disappointments, and start building the bridge to love.

Love is kind, love is patient, love is understanding, love is pink, love is compassionate, love is your friend. Are you its friend? If you haven’t made friends with love, try using pink today. Pink is the universal color for LOVE. It’s happy, youthful and sweet and it makes you smile. It’s associated with the 4th chakra (the heart chakra). Pink brings out that inner child in you that makes you feel like you can do anything. Let it empower you so you can feel free like you did as a child. Try eating some fresh watermelon, raspberries, pink grapefruit and organic salmon.

When someone is in love, you can see it a mile away. They have that pink glow in their face, they are smiling from ear to ear and it’s as though they are floating on clouds.

So if you feel blocked and trapped in your life right now and everything feels bleak, reach out for pink. When you start adoring yourself and taking care of you, you become a magnet. People want to be around your energy. Find the love within you and start showing the world all that you’ve got. Love is the answer. Don’t you agree?
