Most people have a difficult time with VALENTINE'S DAY! So let's rename it i adore me Day! It's a celebration of YOU and all the love that you have for yourself, your life, your creativity and your being. Take today and focus on GRATITUDE for all the things that you have NOW. Surround yourself with REDS, HOT PINKS and MAGENTAS and find all the fire, passion and love inside of you. Rock It into your world.
Whether you have a date or not, just make it a special day about love. Pamper yourself: take a bubble bath, get an aromatherapy massage or even enjoy a cup of hot cocoa.
Write down five things that you want to create for yourself and try to make one of them come true today. Relax, enjoy, live and love.
Happy i adore me Day!

I was one of the speakers at the Joie De Vivre Circle I’ve been going to for years now, and I love them. They are intimate gatherings at lovely women’s homes on Fifth Avenue. I met Edwige Gilbert there five years ago. She’s the woman who started the circle back in 2001. She is charming and I adore her French accent. Over the years she has become a very dear friend. When I walked in, she said, “Betsy, let’s change the format this evening. Instead of us speaking to the group one-on-one, let’s bounce off of each other and see where it goes. Are you on board?” I said, “Yes!”
It was a wonderful forum of conversation, letting go and just being in the moment. We were a great complement to each other, bouncing back and forth with our stories and powerful words. Sometimes the best things happen when we don’t plan and expect everything to be perfect. Perfection! What a word. And if you’re not careful it can destroy you.
For so many years I wanted to have everything perfect in my world, but now the word perfect to me means that everything is perfect just as it is. I look at my life through such a different lens. I‘m not about getting or making things perfect. I am just being me and showing up, and it feels really great.
Edwige went around the room asking everyone one to share an experience about someone they love and how that experience had an impact on them. It was so real and everyone opened up, speaking from their hearts.
A lovely gentleman in the group turned and said,“ Well here is my share. I was away on a trip with a very dear friend. I carry many of my business cards with me and I hand them out to anyone I meet. My good friend, who is a psychologist, turned to me and said, ‘Why in the world are you wasting those cards on people who probably will just throw them in the garbage after tonight?’ So I said, ‘I believe that it’s better to share the love and give the cards than to have them sit in a box in your house to collect dust.’ ‘Thank you for that…you are so right. I will start giving them out. I can’t thank you enough for that message.’”
One woman said, “I gave my daughter a magic wand many moons ago and I told her that the wand had three attributes and they are:
1) This wand will be your very own fairy godmother 2) It will work if you want it badly enough 3) AND It will work in it’s own time.
To this day my daughter says, ‘Mom, that wand was invaluable. You were so right, because it all does work out in it’s own time. Thank you!’”
We all chimed in with, “WOW, I wish my mother had given me a magic wand.”
Everyone has a story and I love the one of the magic wand. I am going to get my own magic wand and let it work it’s magic in it’s own time. How about you?

So what's YOUR passion? Watch this video and be inspired by 11 & 12 year olds who are completing their final WOW Projects for Citizen Schools and The i adore me Kids Program. They have found their passion and used their creativity to impact their community.
Once we find our passion we can step into who we really are and what we want. There's no time like the present, so find that passion within you and bring it out into the world. We all have special gifts to share. What's yours?

It ‘s a new year and that means it is time for new beginnings, commitments and what we really want to create in 2013.
I really dislike the word RESOLUTION. I feel it is a word that just doesn’t work. We set out with all good intentions for our resolutions, however, by the middle of January, or if you are lucky enough to get to February, they are shattered and gone. I was listening to news the other evening and less than 20% percent of people keep their resolutions. The two biggest resolutions are: I am going to exercise more. And, of course, the REALLY BIG ONE…I am really going to lose weight this year…the notorious 10 pounds.
Instead of saying, “I have a resolution,” why don’t you possibly try saying to yourself, “I will make a commitment”? When we commit to a dinner date, we go. When we commit to a job, we show up. So where in your life can you commit to something that will help you create all that you want in 2013?
The first thing you need to do is to write down what it is that you want. Ask yourself, “What is it?” This is a bigger question than you think. Take time and really ask yourself, “What do I want to create in 2013?” Then make a plan. Nothing in life gets done without action. Action is what makes everything work. It’s a step-by-step process. Do things in baby steps. That is how things move forward. Nothing happens overnight. “Slow and steady wins the race.” I love that saying because life is a process. There are many successful people who say, “It took me YEARS to be an overnight success.”
We get to where we want by having a plan, making a commitment and honoring that vision. If you break your commitment, the only one you ever really hurt is yourself.
As we step into our commitments to ourselves we feel more empowered. It builds self-esteem and confidence. Make a commitment and create what you really want for yourself.
Step into your commitments with passion, a plan and action. I’d love to hear what your commitments are for 2013? Please share below.

Dear Madonna,
Merry Christmas! Truly! May this be the most spectacular Christmas you have ever had. I hope when you reach down inside your monogrammed, burgundy, velvet stocking, you find even more love just waiting for you to pull into your life.
You gave me the gift of your voice in 1986, and this year you gave me the most profound of all gifts. You showed me, and all Women all over the Globe, that we can keep dancing, singing and creating as long as we damn well please.
I will twirl, grind, sashay and sing in the subway, in elevators, taxis and at Weddings I'm not invited to. No-one is stopping me- EVER! I'm dancing, right now, in front of the guys making me my Smoothie!! They're smiling!
Madonna, keep on reminding the world that our light never has to dim. It can shine brighter at 71 than it did at 17. It might be softer, but it lights the way every day. It is clear that you are a confident and a deeply committed artist, and you're focus is exceptional. You adore yourself, and in turn, you show others they can do the same.
As we watch our daughters grow, we can give them this gift everyday. Let's show them that our Light and Love can grow deeper every year. Thank you for sharing your Love, your Music and your Infectious Energy with the world!! Take a bow.
Love, Jacqueline Stahl

It’s Christmas Eve and I hope you are all enjoying some wonderful eggnog, family, friends and holiday cheer. Tis the season to be jolly. Sing some carols and stay present…and enjoy the presents (pun intended).
If you get stressed out, wondering if you are giving the right gift, if you are drinking and eating too much or just being around “too much” family, take a minute for yourself and breathe. Let go and enjoy. Whatever will be will be.
Dress in something fun and festive. Wear red, green or hot pink. Red promotes passion, energy and confidence. It helps you to feel powerful within yourself. Green will help open your heart, letting you feel love and abundance. Hot Pink is playful and fun. It makes you feel like a child all over again.
Enjoy yourself. It’s Christmas. Focus on all the love that surrounds you instead of the problems that arise. I hope this holiday brings you lots of peace in your heart. Wishing you all lots of love and a great BIG holiday hug.

You can never have enough hugs and kisses!

What is luxury to you? Is it an expensive car or vacation? Is it a new sweater or a new house? I used to think that luxury was about having a lot of money, but now my thinking is different. When you don’t have a lot of money you have to get creative and think differently about what is important to you. Luxury is all about how valuable you believe yourself to be. It’s not about materialistic purchases, but a simpler and more loving approach to finding the treasures in your life.
Luxury is in our every day lives. Here are some simple, wonderful things that you can add to your world to make it more luxurious:
· A single red rose
· The wonderful scent of lavender oil in your bath
· A piece of dark cocoa chocolate with fresh juicy strawberries
· A walk through the park
· An old movie that makes you smile
· Your favorite music piped in on your iPhone while you take a walk to meet a friend for tea
· Buying a beautiful card and sending it to someone special, because you want to say, “I love you”
· A warm cup of cocoa after a cold day outside
· A glass of wine shared by candlelight
The question you need to ask yourself is if you feel worthy of such pleasures. Well, do you? If not, then maybe it‘s time to change your thinking. It really is that simple.
Luxury is everywhere. When you utilize it, the quality of your life will change instantly and you will feel so much happier and quite abundant. You don’t need a lot of money to have luxury. You just need to feel worthy of it all.
I recently took a warm bubble bath and I never take a bath in the morning. I always take morning showers, but that day I wanted to treat myself to a luxurious experience. I played Chris Botti, the famous trumpeter, on my iPad, I poured some lavender oil in my bath and lit a candle. I thought I was away at a spa. It cost nothing and I felt incredible. I had a smile on my face for the rest of the day. From that moment on, I was so relaxed and got so much accomplished. I felt like I had a million bucks in the bank.
What luxury will you give yourself today? Feel the pleasure of luxurious living. You deserve it!

Here is part two for the i adore me class I am teaching to 11 & 12 year old children for Citizen Schools. Through this course they are learning how to adore themselves, how color can impact their emotions and what that means for their community. The following are six short blogs by some of the students. They were asked what their passion is, what their favorite color is, how their passion and their favorite color makes them feel aWnd how they will use these things to support their community. The lesson here was to teach them how to express themselves through words. It’s interesting how a child’s mind works. We can learn a lot from them! They don’t edit themselves. I hope you enjoy their answers as much as I do:

My passion is that I want to be an artist to get money and play basketball. My favorite color is yellow. The reason why I pick that is because yellow makes me feel free and relaxed. The passion and the color makes me feel I am going to be a better person and be famous. I can use all of these to decorate my community and make it colorful. Or maybe the boys wants to play basketball or the girls want to be artists. And I could make my community a better place.

My passion is counseling people. I love giving people advice. I’ve always loved giving advice. My favorite color is blue, because I love the way it makes me feel. It makes me feel secure. The way these things would help me support my community is that I could go do a big poster and I want it to be blue. I want the people to know that I’m creative…also what I’m capable of doing for my community. It’ll help them with their problems.
